7 Hidden Beaches Along the Coast You Need to Visit

One of the best things about staying at Ocean Villa is how many beautiful beaches are within easy reach. Some are famous, most are not — and those are the ones our guests always ask about. Here are seven of our favourites, from a five-minute walk to a half-day adventure.
1. The cove below the villas
Follow the coastal path from the villas for about five minutes and you’ll reach a small pebble cove with crystal-clear water. It’s rarely busy, even in August, and it’s the perfect spot for an early-morning swim before breakfast.
2. Turquoise Bay
Fifteen minutes by car, down a long flight of stone steps, lies a bay so blue it looks edited. Arrive before 10:00 to find a spot in the shade of the cliffs, and bring water shoes — the pebbles get hot by midday.
3. The long sandy beach
If you’re travelling with children, this is the one. Eighteen kilometres of soft golden sand, shallow water and dunes to explore. It’s about 25 minutes away and has a small café, sunbed hire and plenty of space even in peak season.

The view over the bay from Villa Azure’s pool terrace.
4. Lighthouse Point
A rocky platform rather than a beach, but the snorkelling here is the best on the coast. Look out for octopus, starfish and shoals of silver fish among the rocks.
5. The boat-only bays
Some of the prettiest bays can only be reached by sea. Local captains run relaxed day trips from the harbour, stopping at four or five coves for swimming, with lunch cooked on board. Ask us and we’ll book the friendliest crew in town.
6. Fisherman’s Beach
A tiny beach next to a working harbour, with a family-run taverna that serves the morning’s catch. Swim, eat, nap, repeat.
7. Sunset Beach
Facing due west, this is where to be at the end of the day. Pack a picnic and a bottle of something cold and watch the sun drop into the sea.
Tip: our welcome folder in each villa has a hand-drawn map with directions, parking spots and our notes on each beach.

We went to Turquoise Bay on your advice and it was the highlight of our trip. Getting there before 10 was definitely the right call!
So happy you loved it, Laura! It really is something special early in the morning before the boats arrive.
Can you recommend a boat trip that is suitable for kids aged 5 and 8?
Hi Tom! Yes — there’s a family-run boat with shaded seating and life jackets in all sizes. Send us a message when you book and we’ll reserve it for you.
The snorkelling at Lighthouse Point was incredible. We saw an octopus on our very first swim.
