Change the theme’s texts, like “Read more”, “Select dates” or “Search”, without a translation plugin. Useful when your website is in another language than English, or when you’d like different wording. Go to WP Admin → Lodge WP Settings → Translations.
How it works
- Each field is one text from the theme: its label and placeholder show the original English text.
- Type your own text and click on Save Settings. It replaces the original everywhere on your website.
- Leave a field empty to keep the original text.
The texts are grouped by where they appear: General, Accommodations, Blog, Comments, Page Not Found (404) and Screen Readers. Screen reader texts aren’t visible on the page, but they’re read aloud to visitors who use a screen reader, so translate them too.
Some texts contain %s or %d, e.g. “Search results for: %s”. Keep it in your text: it’s replaced by the search term, a number or a name. For example: “Rezultate pentru: %s”.
Other texts
- Booking buttons: “Select dates” can also be set per accommodation with its Button Label (see Booking Pages), which is used instead of the text set here.
- Dates on blog posts follow WP Admin → Settings → General → Date Format.
- Texts from WordPress itself, like the name and email fields of the comment form, and from your plugins follow the Site Language under WP Admin → Settings → General.
- Your pages, menus and the texts you enter in the modules are written by you, in any language.
Websites in more than one language
A text set here is shown in every language and replaces the translation from a plugin. If you use WPML, Polylang or TranslatePress, leave these fields empty and translate the theme’s texts with your language plugin instead. See Language Options.
Translations are not included in demo imports, so importing the demo settings doesn’t remove them.
