Language Options

Documentation Menu

The language picker in the header, for websites in more than one language. Go to WP Admin → Lodge WP Settings → Language Options.

Language Picker

  • Automatic: shows the languages of WPML, Polylang or TranslatePress. The picker only appears when two or more languages are active.
  • Custom links: your own list of links, e.g. when each language is a separate website.
  • Off: no language picker.

Automatic

  • Label: how languages are named on the picker button: Code (EN), Short name (Eng) or Full name (English). The list itself always shows each language in its own name (English, Deutsch, Français).
  • Show Flags: shows the flags of your multilingual plugin next to the names. Flags stand for countries rather than languages, so names alone are often clearer.

Custom links

Add one row per language in Language Links. The first link should be the language of this website.

  • Label: the name shown in the picker, e.g. “Deutsch”.
  • Language Code: the two-letter code (en, de, fr…), which helps browsers and search engines.
  • URL: the address of that language’s website.

WP Booking System calendars and forms follow the website language when their Language option is set to Auto.
