Imports the content of one of our demos, so you can start from a complete website and replace the texts and images with your own. Go to WP Admin → Lodge WP Settings → Demo Import.
The import includes pages, posts, accommodations, galleries, testimonials, FAQs, reusable sections, menus and the theme settings, together with their images.
Downloading a demo requires an active license key. See Registering your website.
Source
- Download the Cabin demo from the Lodge WP server: a website for a single accommodation. See the live demo.
- Download the Ocean demo from the Lodge WP server: a website for several accommodations, with an availability search. See the live demo.
- Upload a demo package (.zip): a package you received from us. The tab shows the maximum upload size of your server.
Existing content
- Keep my content and add the demo content: adds the demo next to what you already have. Items imported before are not duplicated.
- Replace my content with the demo content: moves your existing pages, posts, accommodations, galleries, testimonials, FAQs and reusable sections to the Trash first. Media, users, bookings and WooCommerce pages are not touched.
Settings
Also import these settings, the menus and the homepage: imports the demo’s colors, fonts, header, footer and blog settings, its menus, and sets its homepage and blog page under Settings → Reading. This overwrites the values on the other tabs of Lodge WP Settings. Untick it to keep your own settings.
WP Booking System
If WP Booking System is active, the demo calendars, legend items and booking forms are imported too, and connected to the demo accommodations. Your existing calendars and bookings are never changed. If it’s not active, calendars and forms are skipped: activate the plugin before importing to include them.
Running the import
- Choose the source, what happens to your existing content, and whether to import the settings.
- Click on Import Demo Content. A progress bar shows each step.
- Keep the page open until the import is finished.
If the import is interrupted, for example by a lost connection, come back to this tab and click on Resume Unfinished Import.
Replace mode moves content to the Trash. You can restore items from the Trash, but we recommend making a backup before importing on a website with real content.
Only administrators can see this tab. Tracking codes are never imported.
