Downloading the theme
You can download the latest version of the theme by logging in to your account and going to the Downloads page. You will be prompted to save the theme as a .zip on your device.
Upload the .zip file as it is. Don’t extract it first: WordPress needs the archive.
Installing via WordPress Dashboard
- In the WordPress Dashboard menu, go to Appearance → Themes and click on Add New Theme.
- Click on the Upload Theme button near the page title. A box will open where you can upload the downloaded ( .zip ) file.
- Select the .zip file and click the Install Now button.
- Click on Activate.
Installing via FTP
After you’ve downloaded the archive ( .zip ) file, you will need to extract it on your local computer. This will create a folder named lodgewp with the contents of the theme. Using an FTP client (like FileZilla for example), upload that folder on your server, in the wp-content/themes folder. Then go to WP Admin → Appearance → Themes and click on Activate under LodgeWP.
Included plugins
LodgeWP comes with the plugins it needs, so you don’t have to install them separately:
- Secure Custom Fields powers the modules and the theme settings. If you already use Advanced Custom Fields PRO, the theme uses that instead.
- Classic Editor for editing pages and posts.
- SVG Support, so you can upload SVG logos and icons.
If one of these plugins is already installed and active on your website, the theme leaves it to the plugin.
The free version of Advanced Custom Fields is not enough to run the theme. If it’s active, the theme shows a notice: deactivate it, or replace it with Advanced Custom Fields PRO.
